Individual Tutoring Sessions

Individual tutoring sessions provide virtual one-on-one instruction through Zoom in a variety of subject areas. Students can schedule repeating sessions (i.e. daily or weekly) depending on their needs.

Group Tutoring Sessions

Group virtual tutoring sessions through Zoom are great for students who are looking to receive instruction with their peers. Students can schedule repeating sessions (i.e. daily or weekly) depending on their needs.

Walk-Ins

Need help on a couple of homework questions? Virtual walk-ins through Zoom are a flexible option for students seeking immediate assistance.

Computer and Internet Resource Assistance

We are students and alumni of Michigan Tech that want to make a difference in our community by helping K-12 students and families!

TechTutors was established to help meet the evolving needs of kids and families in the Keweenaw during the COVID-19 crisis. Our goal is to provide resources for K-12 students to:

  • Receive free virtual tutoring from the crazy smart students of Michigan Tech

  • Explore new topics in science, engineering, and the humanities and learn about career pathways

1. What do I do if my student does not have reliable access to the Internet or a device suitable for virtual tutoring sessions?

If your student does not have reliable access to the Internet or a device suitable for tutoring sessions, contact us via email (techtutors@mtu.edu) for resource options.

2. Do we have to pay for tutoring sessions?

No, Tech Tutors is a free tutoring program made possible by MTU's Pavlis Honors College and Center for Educational Outreach.

3. Can tutors and students meet in person for tutoring sessions?

As of right now, due to the COVID crisis, tutors and students can only meet virtually. In the future we plan to provide in-person tutoring sessions.
